Description
The Juniper MX80-5G-DC-B is a compact carrier-grade Universal Edge Router designed for enterprise WAN, service provider edge, campus aggregation, and data center connectivity. As part of the Juniper MX Series, this platform delivers advanced routing, MPLS, VPN, and Ethernet services in a space-efficient 2RU chassis. It is a software-limited version of the MX80 platform, providing an initial 5 Gbps capacity that can be upgraded through licensing as network requirements grow.
The router includes four built-in 10 Gigabit Ethernet XFP ports, two Modular Interface Card (MIC) slots, and support for Junos OS, enabling flexible deployment across enterprise and service provider infrastructures. Its DC-powered design makes it suitable for telecom facilities, ISP environments, and power-sensitive network installations.
Built on Juniper’s Trio architecture, the MX80 platform supports advanced Layer 2 and Layer 3 services, QoS, MPLS, BGP, VPN services, and carrier Ethernet applications while maintaining high reliability and long-term scalability.
