Description

The Cisco WS-X4712-SFP+E is a high-density 10 Gigabit Ethernet line card designed for Cisco Catalyst 4500E Series modular switches. It provides flexible, high-speed fiber connectivity for enterprise campus networks, data center aggregation, and distribution-layer deployments where scalable bandwidth and reliable performance are essential.

This line card features 12 SFP+ ports that support both 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GBASE-R) and 1 Gigabit Ethernet (1000BASE-X) SFP/SFP+ transceivers. The ports can operate simultaneously with a mix of 1G and 10G optics, offering maximum deployment flexibility. It also supports jumbo frames, Cisco TrustSec, IEEE 802.1AE MACsec encryption, and advanced Layer 2–Layer 4 services when paired with compatible Cisco Catalyst 4500E supervisor engines running Cisco IOS XE Release 3.1.0SG or later.
